For a client an exciting opportunity has arisen for a resourceful Planning Engineer to join their Project Planning & Cost Control Department. You will join a large and highly experienced team and gain exposure to the full life cycle of complex offshore projects from inception through to completion.

They are looking for someone with a strong understanding of planning techniques, proven experience using project management software and a good knowledge of engineering. This is a great opportunity for you as an ambitious Planning Engineer to develop your career within a global player in the offshore pipelay and heavy lift industry. Your tasks will consist of the following:

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden

  • Coordinate project planning activities for allocated projects
  • Translate proposal schedules into project schedules
  • Initiate onshore scope planning and co-ordinate input from various disciplines, offices and subcontractors
  • Create deliverables register and document route plan in conjunction with disciplines
  • Issue initial schedule(s) internally for review and/or approval
  • Maintain schedules, provide forecasts and produce progress reports for project team, management and client
  • Provide input to seasonal schedule in co-ordination with the Department Head Project Control
  • Create project scenarios, separate offshore schedules and mobilisation plans
  • Set up and progress CAPEX and R&M (port call, docking) schedules


  • Degree-educated in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 5 years’ project planning experience within offshore/marine environment
  • Track record working with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
  • Good knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques
  • Excellent command of Office tools, especially Power Point and Excel
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Highly organised with a hands-on, no-nonsense mentality and an ability to work on own initiative
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends
